Deadline: 15-Nov-2025
The E-YUVA Scheme provides support to promote a culture of translational research and need-oriented (societal or industry) entrepreneurial innovation.
The E-YUVA Fellowship, initiated by the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), provides a structured platform for undergraduate students to engage in meaningful research and innovation. Designed to nurture creativity and entrepreneurship among young minds, the program emphasizes teamwork and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
The E-YUVA Fellowship not only provides access to high-quality research facilities but also promotes experiential learning through collaboration with E-YUVA Centres and Knowledge Partners.
Fellows are expected to spend three to four weeks at these centres during their fellowship, gaining exposure to advanced tools, mentorship, and innovation ecosystems. This hands-on experience equips students with the skills and understanding necessary to translate ideas into viable scientific or entrepreneurial outcomes.
Each E-Yuva Fellow receives a quarterly stipend of INR 7,500 per student and an annual research grant of INR 2,50,000 per team. The stipend is released quarterly to the student’s account, subject to the mentor’s approval, while the research grant is disbursed to the institute’s account in two installments—75% as the first installment and 25% as the second.
In addition to financial assistance, E-Yuva Fellows benefit from continuous mentoring support provided by E-Yuva Centres (EYCs), EYC Knowledge Partners, and BIRAC. This mentorship covers a wide range of essential areas including technical guidance, intellectual property (IP) support, legal and regulatory advice, networking opportunities, business mentoring, and fundraising assistance.
Each participating team can consist of up to five Indian undergraduate students from any domain, with teams comprising students from different disciplines or institutions being especially encouraged.
To ensure proper guidance, each team must be supported by a mentor or guide throughout the fellowship period. Additionally, all applications must be routed through the Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) of the participating institution.
In cases where the team includes students from different colleges or universities, each member’s respective institution must have an E-Cell, Institutional Innovation Council, or Incubation Centre in place to facilitate participation.
Applications for the E-YUVA Fellowship must be submitted online through the official BIRAC website. Only one team member is required to create a user account on behalf of the group to complete the online application process.
The final date for submission of applications is 15 November 2025, by 5:30 PM.
