Deadline: 30-Nov-2025
The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation has announced the Inlaks–Asia Art Archive Art Grant Program, which encourages artists to develop methods of art-making that integrate research, collaboration, workshops, and formal experimentation while exploring the imaginations, architectures, sensoria, and interfaces of the archive.
The Grant will be awarded for a one-year period, from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026, and offers financial support of up to INR 2,00,000. It provides recipients with the opportunity to deepen their engagement with archival materials and methodologies within their chosen fields.
Eligibility is limited to Indian citizens residing in India, born between 1 January 1990 and 1 January 2000. Collectives may also apply, provided all members are Indian citizens under 35 years of age as of the year of application. However, individuals who have previously received any form of Inlaks Grant, Award, or Residency are not eligible to apply.
The Grant encourages applicants to propose projects that engage creatively and analytically with the concept of archives across disciplines. Applications will be evaluated based on clarity and rigour, with eligibility extended to projects that build upon existing work. Grantees are not required to submit a completed project at the end of the grant period, emphasizing the value of process, exploration, and research over finished outcomes.
Applicants must complete the online application form, which includes sections for Applicant Details, Referee Details, Project Details, and Documents for Upload. The required upload should be a single PDF or ZIP file not exceeding 25MB and must include a two-page CV, an artist statement of up to 500 words describing the applicant’s practice and areas of interest, and a project proposal of up to 1500 words.
The proposal should outline the intended or ongoing project, a timeline of stages and potential platforms, a detailed budget, and the archives, collections, or individuals the applicant plans to access. Applicants should also submit a portfolio of three to five recent projects, with audio or video materials linked via platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, or SoundCloud.
The proposal can evolve during the one-year period in consultation with AAA and Inlaks representatives, allowing flexibility and development within the supported timeframe.
The deadline for submission of applications is Friday, 30 November 2025.
