Deadline: 31-Aug-2025
The Literature Translation Institute of Korea (LTI Korea) is now accepting applications for the Korean Literary Research and Publication Grant. This program aims to strengthen the academic foundation of Korean literature and promote its recognition as part of world literature.
The grant supports the publication of works on Korean literature in local languages. This includes both books and periodical articles.
The funding amount is determined in Korean won (KRW) based on the evaluation results. For periodicals, the maximum grant is KRW 2 million. For books, the total grant can go up to KRW 30 million, with a cap of KRW 4 million specifically allocated for book publication costs.
Eligible activities include the publication of academic papers, essays, critiques, and book reviews on Korean literature in overseas periodicals. It also covers the publication of books such as introductory texts and critical essays through foreign publishers.
Organizations and individuals of any nationality or language background may apply. This includes researchers, critics, translators, universities, publishers, literary organizations, and freelancers.
Applicants must either have a confirmed publication contract with a foreign publisher or research institution, or expect to publish their work in a periodical without financial backing from other institutions.
Those under restrictions as per Article 19 or Article 20 of the Academic Promotion Act are not eligible if the sanction period has not ended by the application deadline.
