Deadline: 28-Aug-2025
The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India, is celebrating its 19th Foundation Day on 27th July 2025. This marks over two decades of contributions in Earth System Sciences, including achievements in weather forecasting, climate modeling, ocean exploration, seismology, and polar research.
Since its inception, MoES has played a vital role in strengthening India’s scientific capabilities and resilience. Its work supports national development, environmental sustainability, and disaster preparedness, helping the country move toward a more sustainable and secure future.
To commemorate this occasion, MoES, in collaboration with MyGov India, is launching the ‘Prithvi Vigyan Slogan Writing Contest.’ This initiative invites citizens to reflect on the Ministry’s journey and its vision for a sustainable India through creative and meaningful slogans.
The contest supports the broader goals of Viksit Bharat 2047 and encourages public participation in promoting awareness of Earth sciences. Participants are invited to submit original slogans that represent MoES’s progress, scientific innovation, and commitment to public service.
Slogans must follow the Government of India’s Digital Brand Identity Guidelines. Entries should be clear, simple, and suitable for various platforms. Submissions must be in Hindi or English and limited to 15 words.
The winning entry will receive attractive prizes and be featured across digital platforms, print media, and merchandise. A short description of up to 100 words explaining the message and inspiration behind the slogan is also required.
The contest is open to all Indian citizens. Entries will be judged on originality, relevance to the theme “19 Years of MoES” or “19 Saal: Vigyan, Sankalp aur Seva,” and alignment with Earth Science topics such as atmosphere, oceans, and geosciences.
