Deadline: 29-Sep-2025
Artists based in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, or England can now apply for funding through the Immersive Arts program, which offers opportunities to grow their practice through financial support, training, research, and events.
Between 2024 and 2027, over £3.6 million will be distributed to support more than 200 UK-based artists. The program offers three funding strands: Explore (£5,000 for up to 6 months), Experiment (£20,000 for up to 9 months), and Expand (£50,000 for up to 12 months).
Funding can be used for a range of eligible costs, including planning, developing, or delivering new immersive arts projects; attending residencies, workshops, and events; training and other support; buying materials and software; paying collaborators; hiring creative spaces; researching accessibility options; and making audience experiences more inclusive. Marketing and audience development are allowed only for Experiment and Expand grants.
Some costs are not eligible, such as capital expenditures, general overheads unrelated to the project, debt repayment, non-artistic activities, fundraising events, unrelated equipment, formal education or tuition, academic activities, already funded costs, and alcohol.
Eligible applicants include individual artists, creative practitioners, or technologists, as well as arts-based organisations, small groups, or collectives (up to 10 people for Explore and Experiment, up to 50 for Expand). Applicants must be UK-based, 18 or older, and have a UK bank account. Only one application is allowed per round, and previous applicants may apply again.
Applicants may upload supporting materials such as documents, images, videos, and audio files. Web links should direct to specific project pages. Documents must be no more than two pages or slides, under 5MB, and in accepted formats like PDF, DOCX, or PPTX. Image files must be under 5MB in JPG or PNG format, while video files can be up to 10MB in MP4, MOV, or AVI formats. Audio files must also be under 10MB, in MP3, WAV, or AAC formats.
