Deadline: 02-Oct-2025
The Ontario Arts Council invites Ontario’s Francophone visual artists, artisans, curators, collectives, and organizations to apply to its Visual Arts and Crafts French Speaking Projects, a grant opportunity offered entirely in French.
This initiative seeks to nurture vibrant practices in visual arts and craft by supporting the creation, curatorial research, and presentation of artistic projects deeply rooted in Francophone culture and expression.
Applicants can propose a range of projects tailored to their stage of professional development and artistic aims. Whether launching new creative work as emerging, mid-career, or established artists, or leading curator-driven research, the program caters to various artistic paths. Artists in early career stages can receive up to $5,000 to support experimentation and new work, while those further along in their careers can access up to $7,500 or $15,000 based on their profile. Independent curators may receive grants of up to $5,000 to develop curatorial projects, and those planning exhibitions or public-facing initiatives under the “Expositions/Connexions” category can secure up to $10,000.
Applicants typically receive funding decisions approximately four and a half months after the deadline, allowing ample time to plan and prepare their projects with confidence.
Through this program, the Ontario Arts Council actively invests in Francophone visual arts and craft, encouraging authentic, culturally grounded expressions and offering meaningful support that resonates across communities and artistic disciplines.
