Deadline: 12-Aug-2025
The City of Sydney is now accepting applications for its Innovation and Ideas Grants Program. This program is designed to support creative, forward-thinking projects that promote innovation, explore new solutions, and address both local and global challenges. Projects should align with the City’s strategic priorities and demonstrate potential to benefit the community.
Applicants are encouraged to propose projects that cover multiple priority areas. Funding can be used for research, feasibility studies, pilot programs, and initiatives that test or scale innovative solutions. Support is also available for developing best practice toolkits, new technologies, or platforms aligned with the City’s goals.
The grant offers cash funding of up to $50,000 per year. Projects can be supported for one year or for up to three years under a multi-year agreement.
Funded projects should help make Sydney more environmentally sustainable, foster a circular economy, drive innovation and economic transformation, and promote equity, inclusion, cultural vitality, and resilience.
To be eligible, applicants must operate within the City of Sydney or clearly demonstrate how their project benefits local residents, workers, or visitors. Eligible organizations include not-for-profits, incorporated associations, corporations, co-operatives, and trustees of a trust.
The grant does not cover operational costs or core overheads of an organization. Only project-based initiatives aligned with the funding priorities will be considered.
