The National Research, Development and Innovation Fund (NRDI Fund) has announced a call titled “Support of activities fostering the domestic and international protection of intellectual property with the aim of facilitating the utilization of such intellectual property.”
The focus of this call is the protection of industrial property rights, specifically supporting activities aimed at obtaining domestic and/or international industrial property protection for intellectual creations.
This funding scheme supports activities related to Hungarian patent, utility model or plant variety protection applications, Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications, commencement of national or regional procedures under the PCT, validation of European patents, domestic and EU trademark registrations, international trademark registrations, and both domestic and Community design registrations. One applicant may apply for multiple activities, but only one activity can be funded per application.
The total available budget for this call is HUF 500 million, with funding intensity set at 100%. The funds available per project range from HUF 0.01 million to HUF 7.5 million, depending on the activity type. Eligible applicants include private individuals residing in Hungary and legal entities with a registered seat in Hungary or in the European Economic Area with a branch office in Hungary. These may include enterprises, non-profit organizations, budgetary institutions, research organizations, and higher education institutions. Each applicant must ensure that the proposed activity has not already received funding under previous similar NRDI calls.
Applications must be submitted electronically through the Participant Portal. The finalized proposal must be accompanied by a duly signed declaration authenticated via a qualified electronic signature or the ePaper service. The NRDI Office is responsible for evaluating the proposals.
