Deadline: 17-Aug-2025
The Delfina Foundation, with support from their Network of Asia Pacific Patrons, is inviting applications from artists based in Southeast Asia for a twelve-week residency in London. This opportunity is open to citizens or long-term residents living and working in countries including Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Brunei, Cambodia, Myanmar, Lao PDR, and Timor-Leste.
Each year, the foundation runs four residency seasons of three months each. These seasons are either ‘open’ for independent research or ‘thematic’ for collective research around a specific topic. The selected artist will participate in the ‘open’ winter season in 2026, which supports self-directed practice and exploration.
The residency includes a return economy-class flight, airport transfers in the UK, reimbursement of visa fees if required, and a living allowance of £40 per day. Artists will also receive a £1,000 materials budget and a local travel pass. Accommodation will be provided in a shared house with up to eight residents, offering facilities such as bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, a library, and dining area.
Artists will have time and space to develop their work while engaging with the UK art scene. The programme also includes opportunities to interact with curators, researchers, and fellow artists through studio visits, presentations, shared meals, and events. Professional development is supported through portfolio reviews, mentoring, and crit sessions.
The residency also includes collaborative and informal exchanges among residents and guided visits to museums, galleries, artist-run spaces, and institutions in and beyond London.
Eligible applicants must be seeking a chance to grow their artistic practice through research. They should be able to explain how the residency will benefit their career and networks and must have proficiency in English.
