Deadline: 19-Sep-2025
The Finnish Foundation for Commercial and Technical Sciences in partnership with the Erkki Paasikivi Foundation is pleased to announce its Water Sector Research Grant Program to ensure multi-year funding, especially for research projects by young researchers.
The themes for the research are related to clean drinking water, development of water purification technology and analytics, research on special pure waters, and research on clean water for the pharmaceutical industry and hospitals. The grant does not fund research related to natural waters or wastewater treatment.
The grant is primarily for doctoral studies and post-doc research and grants are awarded for full-time research work primarily for a period of three, six or 12 months. If the research progresses on schedule and the researcher reports on the use of the funding to the funding foundation in accordance with the instructions, the foundation may commit to paying the grant for a longer period, however, for a maximum of three years. Grants are awarded as follows: a three-month period grant is €6,000, a six-month period grant is €13,000, and a 12-month period grant is €26,000 for doctoral students or €28,000 for postdocs. If necessary, grants can also be applied for for research periods of other lengths, between 1 and 12 months.
Workgroups can also apply. Applicants must have a university degree or other strong evidence in the field of water technology. To apply, applicants must complete and submit the application form along with attachments, which include a concise project plan and a curriculum vitae with a list of publications. A statement from the research supervisor or another recommender is required, and they will receive a separate email invitation to provide the statement through the application system.
