SurveyCTO has announced the return of its Primary Data Collection Research Grant, aimed at supporting promising researchers who rely on high-quality primary data. This grant is especially suited for PhD candidates or those pursuing terminal degrees with a strong data collection component in their research.
The initiative is designed to empower researchers by offering a financial grant, a full year of free access to SurveyCTO’s platform, dedicated expert support, and exposure for their research through co-marketing opportunities. Recipients can expect a comprehensive package to help them collect and manage data efficiently and effectively.
Grant recipients benefit from unlimited storage for various data types including images, videos, GPS coordinates, audio audits, and digital signatures. They can also deploy unlimited survey forms and instruments, and collaborate with an unlimited number of users and mobile devices. SurveyCTO also allows up to 10,000 form submissions per month.
The platform includes built-in data quality monitoring tools to help researchers ensure they are collecting accurate and reliable data. In addition, each grant recipient will be assigned a dedicated SurveyCTO Research Advisor and will receive full 24/7 customer support for any technical or operational assistance.
Awardees also gain visibility through various promotional formats, such as articles, webinars, and podcasts. SurveyCTO will showcase the selected research projects to their broader community, offering awardees increased recognition.
Each winner will receive a one-time cash grant of up to $3,000 USD, intended to directly support their upcoming primary data collection efforts. The funds may be used for local travel, purchasing or renting data collection equipment, paying field staff, developing training materials, covering communication costs, and providing incentives for participants.
To be eligible, applicants must be currently pursuing a terminal degree like a PhD and be conducting research that involves extensive primary data collection. SurveyCTO strongly encourages students whose research will benefit underserved communities, especially in their home regions, to apply.
Applications will be reviewed by a committee at Dobility and judged on the impact of the research, including cultural, social, policy, environmental, or economic significance. The assessment will also consider the innovativeness of the research field and methodology, as well as the overall feasibility of successfully completing the project.
