The Wildlife Acoustics is proud to offer a grant program that supports the advancement of wildlife research, habitat monitoring, and environmental conservation.
The focus areas of the program include supporting scientists with product grants to advance the study of bats, birds, amphibians, and other terrestrial wildlife, travel grants to help researchers attend conferences, and software-only grants through streamlined applications.
The Wildlife Acoustics Grant Program provides different funding opportunities designed to meet the needs of researchers and conservationists. The Standard Product Grant awards up to $12,000 USD in eligible products each quarter, with individual applicants able to request up to $4,000 USD in recorders, accessories, and software licenses. The Software-Only Grant allows selected recipients to access one or more annual Kaleidoscope Pro licenses through a simplified process. The Travel Grant awards one individual up to $1,000 USD each quarter to cover conference expenses, including registration, transportation, and lodging fees, for early-career professionals such as master’s students, PhD students, and postdocs.
Eligibility for the product and software grants includes accessories carried by Wildlife Acoustics for use with the Song Meter Mini 2, Mini Bat 2, and Micro 2. However, third-party accessories like SD cards, batteries (except lithium-ion), chargers, padlocks, and cable locks are not eligible. Both U.S. and non-U.S. government agencies are excluded from the program. Applicants are limited to submitting one project per quarter.
Through this initiative, Wildlife Acoustics seeks to empower researchers and conservationists to enhance their impact, expand scientific knowledge, and contribute to global conservation efforts.
