Applications are currently open for joint DBT-CDTI under the Indo-Spanish Programme for Technological Co-Operation in Biotechnology. Joint Programme for Co-operation signed by the Department of Biotechnology of India (DBT) and the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) on November 22nd, 2011.
The objective of the joint Indo-Spanish programme is to promote and fund market-driven research and technology development. The programme also encourages dynamic partnerships and business-Ied R&D&I collaborative projects in the field of biotechnology
Thematic Areas
- Food Biotechnology with following thematic areas:
- Future probiotics: Towards sustainable & efficient nutrient partitioning.
- Enzyme(s) driven strategies for enhanced functionality of food.
- Enzyme(s) driven strategies for food production and processing.
- Precision nutrition: Bio-fortification of vitamins and micronutrients, Infant developmental needs.
- Translating omic-technologies towards sustainable & improved food functionalities & enhanced food or by-products productivity.
- Biotechnology-based micro or nanoscale biosensors: Assuring safety of agrifood products, Dairy products, Poultry products.
- Biotechnology-based efficient, low-cost, sustainable and scalable, vegetables and horticulture conservation and storage systems.
- Agri Biotech, research which directly impacts on crop resilience, helps to combat disease and increases yield – benefiting both agriculture and the environment:
- Precision agriculture.
- Crop yield, resilience, quality
Duration
2 years up to 3 years.
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum eligibility criteria: at least one qualified partner from India and one qualified partner from Spain (1 company from Spain + 1 entity from India).
- Eligible Spanish Applicants
- Applicants from the industry are companies or Economic Interest Groupings (EIG) or consortia made up of at least two independent companies. Eligible companies shall be operating and registered in Spain and holding a valid Spanish company tax code (CIF). No minimum Spanish capital percentage ownership is required. Spanish subsidiaries of companies headquartered outside of Spain may also be eligible for support.
- As per CDTI-E.P.E.’s internal regulations, the Spanish consortia should be led by a Spanish Company. Collaboration with other entities such as research centres, technological centres, universities, hospitals and other R&D-performing organisations is permitted under CDTI-E.P.E.’s regulations, as subcontractors of the Spanish companies present in the consortia.
- Eligible Indian Applicants
- The call is open to all career groups (i.e. early, intermediate and senior); however, they expect that investigators will have adequate service tenure to accommodate key research, coordination and outreach responsibilities.
- The Indian side of the consortium can either be led by a company or a research institution.
