The European Social Work Research Association (ESWRA) is seeking nominations from individuals whose research and publication are deemed to have made the most significant contribution to research in social work of those put forward for consideration.
Award Categories
Two Annual Awards will be given :
- The ESWRA Award for an Outstanding Publication in European Social Work Research.
- The ESWRA Award for an Outstanding Publication in European Social Work Research Based on a Doctoral Thesis/Dissertation.
Award Details
- A certificate of award
- A 500 Euro prize
- The conference fee for ECSWR 2017 to receive their award at an awards ceremony at the conference.
Eligibility Criteria
- The first award is open to all general members of the association.
- The second award is open to all members who were doctoral students at the time of the research nominated for the award, and who are members of ESWRA at the time of nomination.
- Nominations must demonstrate a significant contribution to research against the following criteria:
- Overall research quality, including appropriate rigour, transparency and validity.
- Carried out in a demonstrably new area of research
- Demonstrates methodological innovation
- Makes a significant conceptual or theoretical contribution to its field
- Has a (potential) impact for policy-makers, practitioners and other research users
- Candidates for the award must be members of ESWRA at the time of nomination.
How to Apply
Nominations for the awards shall consist of:
- A completed nomination form which is available from the ESWRA website or from the ESWRA Administrator. Candidates can be nominated for either award by another ESWRA member or can be self-nominated.
- A proposal statement of not more than 1,000 words in support of the nomination. In the case of the doctoral research award, the statement should be provided either by a supervisor or an external examiner (who may or may not be an ESWRA member). The statement should indicate how the work makes a significant contribution to social work research against the relevant ESWRA criteria for assessment.
- A copy of the article in English.
