Deadline: 17-May-2026
The City of Greater Dandenong is inviting individuals to apply for small grants that support their participation in elite opportunities. These grants aim to help individuals develop their talents and achieve personal goals in areas such as sports, the arts, and scientific recognition.
There are three types of grants available under the Individual Achievement Grants program. The Competitive Sporting Grant offers funding for athletes to take part in competitive sports. This may include costs for travel, accommodation, registration, and uniforms.
The Individual Artist Grant supports artists attending events, exhibitions, performances, or conferences that enhance their artistic skills. Funding may also go toward supplies, costume hire, and participation fees.
The Award and Recognition Grant is for individuals who have received a state, national, or international award in fields like science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or sustainability. It provides support for attending official ceremonies to receive these honors.
Grant amounts vary based on the level and location of the activity. Individuals can receive up to $500. Sporting and recognition participants can receive $250 for Victorian events, $350 for interstate events, and $500 for international representation. Artists may receive $250 for local or state-level participation, $350 for interstate, and $500 for international opportunities.
To be eligible for the Competitive Sporting Grant or Award and Recognition Grant, applicants must apply within six months of the event, reside in the City of Greater Dandenong at the time of application, and provide proof of residency such as a recent utility bill or driver’s license. If the applicant is under 18, a parent or guardian’s documentation is required. Endorsement from an accredited body and compliance with previous grant conditions are also necessary.
The Individual Artist Grant has additional limitations. Applicants must not be current staff of the City Council, must not receive payment or profit from the activity, and must not have received a Small Grant in the past 24 months. Applications submitted more than six months in advance or for activities already completed are not eligible.
These grants offer valuable support for local individuals striving for excellence in their fields and promote broader community representation at competitive and professional levels.
