Deadline: 15-Aug-2025
The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka has announced that Olympic Solidarity is providing a limited number of grants under its Team Support Grant program. These grants aim to offer financial and technical assistance to national teams preparing for regional, continental, or world-level competitions. The ultimate goal is to help elite teams progress toward qualifying for the Olympic Games.
The grant program is designed to improve athletes’ training and competition experiences, and support their journey from regional to international elite levels. A maximum annual grant of USD 25,000 is available per National Olympic Committee (NOC) from 2025 to 2028, totaling up to USD 100,000 over four years. NOCs may propose different budget allocations across the years, depending on their team’s calendar and competition needs. Examples of budget distribution are provided, allowing flexibility for summer and winter teams.
Funds from the grant can be used for organizing training camps, coaching, friendly matches, and participation in competitions. However, the program does not cover costs already paid by International Federations or team uniforms, though necessary sporting equipment may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Only national teams at the international level, with proof of regional or continental participation, are eligible. Junior teams are not eligible. Each NOC can submit applications for up to two teams—either one summer and one winter team, or two summer or two winter teams. If two teams are proposed, one must be a women’s team, and both applications must be submitted together.
The application process consists of two phases. In Phase 1, NOCs must submit a General Four-Year Plan, including major competitions, planned activities, and a budget breakdown. Once this is approved, Phase 2 requires submission of an Annual Preparation Project with a detailed activity plan, budget proposal, and estimated participants.
