Deadline: 31-Oct-2025
The City of Mandurah is inviting applications for its Outstanding Sporting Representative Grant Program to support local Mandurah residents who are selected to represent their state or nation in sport and recreation activities.
The maximum grant available to individuals if the competition is interstate is $300 and capped at $1000 for representatives from the same club requesting funding for the same competition in any one financial year.
Eligibility for an Outstanding Representative Grant will be assessed on the following criteria: The applicant is a resident of the City of Mandurah. The applicant has gained the highest level of state or national representation in a sport or recreation activity (e.g. in a junior, open or master’s competition) as an athlete, coach, official, or administrator. The applicant is only eligible to receive grant funding from the City once per financial year. Representatives in receipt of other external sources of funding remain eligible, so long as there is no surplus income from the City’s grant. The applicant has submitted their grant application prior to the event taking place. Retrospective funding is not available.
Applications for the Outstanding Representative Grant can only be submitted through the online Smarty Grants Portal. Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible before their sporting event and must ensure all eligibility and assessment criteria are addressed in their application. Each application must also include a letter of selection from a State or National governing sporting body confirming the applicant’s selection to represent Western Australia or Australia.
The City of Mandurah may request further information to clarify applications, and all applicants will be notified of the outcome by the Latest Decision Date. If an application is submitted before the event but assessed after it has taken place, successful applicants will still receive their payment following the event.
Successful grant recipients must agree to the specified terms and conditions. The funds must be spent only for the approved purposes listed in the application and in line with the Grant Guidelines. Any unspent amount must be returned to the City of Mandurah within three months of the grant payment unless an extension is approved by the Executive Manager, Healthy Communities.
All grant acquittals are required to be completed through the Smarty Grants Portal. Until an acquittal has been submitted and approved, no further grant funding will be considered.
The deadline for applications is 31 October 2025.
