The King Khalid Foundation has launched the Green Opportunities Grant to support non-profit organizations in Saudi Arabia. The grant aims to raise awareness about the green economy and promote the adoption of environmentally sustainable practices. It is designed to encourage innovation and create equal opportunities, contributing to the Kingdom’s efforts to build a diversified, green economy.
The financial support will enable non-profits to implement initiatives that empower lower-income groups by helping them acquire professional, craft, or productive skills. These skills will open doors to “green opportunities” through employment or small entrepreneurial ventures in sectors that support and protect the environment.
Eligible sectors include organic farming, ecotourism, recycling, energy conservation services, renewable energy, environmental sustainability, increasing vegetation cover, and wildlife protection. The applying organization must play an active role in connecting beneficiaries to job or income-generating opportunities in these sectors.
The grant is open to non-profit organizations across the Kingdom with the capacity to implement environmental and development-focused projects. Projects must target low-income groups and clearly show how they will train beneficiaries in specific functional or craft skills aligned with environmental sectors.
The proposal should also outline how the organization will help beneficiaries generate income during and after the project. Only non-profit entities are eligible to apply—applications from individuals will not be accepted.
Grant sizes may range from small to medium, depending on the scope and budget justification of each project. Proposals related to direct cash aid, home renovations, asset purchases, or non-developmental assistance will not be considered.
The Foundation emphasizes accountability and transparency. Applicants must upload their project proposals to the official platform, aligning with King Khalid Foundation’s standards of quality and social impact.
