Deadline: 09-Dec-2025
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), through the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP), is inviting civil society organisations (CSOs), community-based organisations (CBOs) and academic institutions in the Bahamas to submit project proposals for its new funding cycle.
The call covers a range of thematic areas including community-based conservation of threatened ecosystems and species, sustainable agriculture and fisheries tied to food security, low-carbon energy access with co-benefits, chemicals and waste management via local-to-global coalitions, and water conservation.
Applicants can apply for two levels of funding: small planning grants of up to USD 5,000 intended to support early-stage studies or pilot activities, and full grants of up to USD 75,000 aimed at implementation of larger community-based initiatives or formal CSO-enterprise partnerships. The emphasis is squarely on projects that deliver sustainable impact and broad community reach, anchored in local ownership and environmental resilience.
The deadline for submission is set for 9 December 2025, and selected applicants will be invited to participate in proposal‐development workshops organised by UNDP/GEF SGP in the Bahamas. This offers eligible organisations a timely opportunity to secure technical and financial support, expand their capacity, and deliver community-led solutions that address pressing environmental and climate challenges in the country.
This call represents a strong chance for Bahamian-based non-governmental players to access dedicated funding for locally-driven environmental action, deepen their role in climate resilience and sustainable development, and contribute to national and global goals through community empowerment and ecosystem protection.
