The Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP) in FSM is inviting community organizations and NGOs to submit project concept papers for their grant funding.

This includes efforts focused on biodiversity conservation and sustainable use, climate change mitigation and adaptation, protection of international waters, sustainable land management, and the elimination of persistent organic pollutants.
The Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP) in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) is inviting project concept and proposal submissions that align with the country’s environmental priorities. Eligible projects should address at least one of the five main focus areas: biodiversity conservation, climate action, international waters protection, prevention of land degradation, or removal of harmful persistent organic pollutants.
Non-governmental organizations, community-based groups, or legitimate community entities within FSM are eligible to apply. Projects funded under this program can receive grants of up to $50,000, with an average grant size around $20,000. The expected project duration is between one and two years, ideally around eighteen months.
Additionally, there is an option for planning grants of up to $5,000 available to assist applicants in developing full project proposals. These planning grants are awarded based on the approval of initial concept papers, helping communities refine their ideas and better prepare for full grant applications. This initiative aims to empower local organizations to lead impactful environmental projects that support sustainable development and protect natural resources.
