The UN Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) and Shenzhen Haohan Technology Information Ltd have launched a call for applications for the Youth Triangular Cooperation Academy for Sustainable Development Agenda” (YTCA4SDA).
YTCA4SDA will provide training focusing on sustainability education and run student competition for the youth from the Global South in Asia-Pacific.
Following training, student participants will develop their own initiatives to tackle a specific problem within the scope of one SDG. Student participants will develop valuable transferable skills through YTCA4SDA’s Project Based Learning (PBL) approach. The YTC4SDA will be implemented under UNOSSC’s Youth4South Platform.
All training provided will be free. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to interact with invited mentors who are renowned professors, industry experts and entrepreneurs who are keen to share their knowledge with the youth population.
Successful applicants who complete the training will also receive an official certificate from UNOSSC. Furthermore, by participating in the YTCA4SDA’s program, participants will develop valuable skills including Collaboration, Data Analysis, Critical Thinking, Project Management, Problem Solving, Leadership and Presentation. These transferable skills will be particularly useful when participants enter the workforce in the future.
Requirements
- Participants are from the Southern countries in East Asia, South East Asia, South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Pacific, and must be in full-time enrollment in High School or University (Undergraduate Level Only).
- Passionate about solving the world’s urgent challenges with a creative mindset.
- Available between 8th Aug 2020 – 15th Aug 2020 for online training, group work and final student competition.
- Fluent in English and a team player.
