Deadline: 05-Aug-2025
The Fund for Local Cooperation (FLC) is a funding tool managed by the Embassy of Finland in Tanzania. It is designed to support local civil society organizations in the country. The FLC works in line with the Finnish-Tanzanian bilateral cooperation and focuses on sustainable development through rights, equality, and inclusion, as outlined in Finland’s country program for Tanzania.
This fund aligns with Finland’s broader strategic goals in Tanzania, which aim to strengthen democracy, human rights, and gender equality. These core values are central to Finnish development policy and are seen as essential for inclusive and sustainable growth.
For the 2025 call, FLC is inviting project proposals that empower citizens to participate in democratic processes and initiatives that monitor, report on, and address human rights and democracy in the country.
The maximum funding available per organization is 200,000 euros over a two-year period. Only three projects will be selected for support under this call.
To be eligible, organizations must be registered Tanzanian NGOs, operational for at least three years, and have at least 15% of their funding from their own sources. They must also have a functional board, be non-partisan, and demonstrate past experience with international donors. Proposals must align with the current FLC priorities and include all required documentation.
Applications must be submitted on time and meet the Official Development Assistance (ODA) criteria. The fund does not support governmental or political organizations, individual beneficiaries, scholarships, land purchases, construction, Finnish beneficiaries, basic research, humanitarian aid, charity, or microcredit programs.
