Deadline: 01-Nov-2025
The GEF Small Grants Programme is now accepting project proposals from national civil society organizations and community groups across Cameroon.
This opportunity is open to a wide range of actors, including indigenous communities, women’s associations, youth groups, organizations representing persons with disabilities, faith-based organizations, and academic or educational institutions.
Projects should focus on environmental protection and sustainable development along the Cameroonian coastline, with priority areas including the edges of Campo Ma’an National Park, the Manyange Na Elombo-Campo Marine Park, Ebodje, the Kribi Rural-Urban continuum, and Bipindi. Applicants are encouraged to implement initiatives that address biodiversity conservation, sustainable agriculture and fisheries, low-carbon energy access, chemical and waste management, and sustainable urban solutions.
Proposals must select a primary strategic initiative and a corresponding focal area, such as community-based conservation of threatened ecosystems (biodiversity), sustainable agriculture and food security (climate change mitigation), low-carbon energy (land degradation and forest management), chemical and waste management, or catalyzing sustainable urban solutions (international waters).
Eligible organizations include community-based organizations, civil society organizations, academic or training institutions, and other locally-led groups. Applicants may also highlight specific community affiliations, such as indigenous peoples’ organizations, women’s groups, youth groups, or organizations representing persons with disabilities, to demonstrate capacity and experience in implementing the proposed project successfully.
