The LAC Digital and Green Innovation Challenge seeks to identify and select innovative digital and green prototypes or ideas focused on strengthening resilience and adaptation to climate change, using Earth Observation data and services available from the European Copernicus program.
Focus Areas
- Prototypes or innovative ideas must fall within the scope of this Digital and Green Innovation (DGI) call, focusing primarily (but not exclusively) on:
- climate change adaptation and mitigation, resilience, biodiversity, forests and ecosystems protection and restoration, sustainable use and protection of water and marine resources, pollution prevention and reduction, greenhouse gas monitoring, resource efficiency and systemic changes such as circular economy, e-waste management, and sustainable, affordable and clean energy
Program Offers
- Support services for Earth Observation-based innovation for climate resilience could cover three complementary dimensions:
- Business support.
- Technical assistance related to Earth Observation and geospatial technologies.
- Support for ecosystem integration, partnership facilitation, and visibility.
Funding Information
- The support program is expected to begin in September/October 2025 and last approximately six months. This program will be implemented through the redemption of service vouchers managed by Expertise France, worth up to €25,000 for each selected company.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants interested in participating in the LAC Digital and Green Innovation Challenge must meet the following criteria:
- Applicant Profile: Companies (small and medium-sized enterprises – SMEs, startups, or individual entrepreneurs) legally registered in one of the target countries:
- Chile, Colombia, or Panama.
- Applications from consortia formed by companies and academic institutions (universities and/or students) will also be considered.
- Antiquity: At least 6 months of operation after registration with the competent legal authority of the country (Chile, Colombia or Panama).
- Prototype or innovative idea stage:
- Applicants’ prototypes may be at an innovation stage of at least TRL 4, or at TRL2/TRL3 in the case of early-stage innovative ideas, and may fall into any of the following development phases:
- Early stage
- Demonstration stage
- Commercialization stage
- Applicants’ prototypes may be at an innovation stage of at least TRL 4, or at TRL2/TRL3 in the case of early-stage innovative ideas, and may fall into any of the following development phases:
- Geographic location:
- Applicants must be registered and based in Latin America, specifically in Chile, Colombia, or Panama.
