Deadline: 26-Oct-2025
SBI Foundation has announced a Request for Proposal (RFP) under its flagship program, SBIF CONSERW – ‘Conservation Through Sustainable Engagements, Restoration and Wildlife Protection’, to implement large-scale projects focused on Solid Waste Management and Liquid Waste Management for a period of two to three years starting from FY 2025–26.
The SBIF CONSERW program is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and focuses on achieving SDG 6 “Clean Water and Sanitation”, SDG 7 “Affordable and Clean Energy”, SDG 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities”, SDG 13 “Climate Action”, SDG 14 “Life Below Water” and SDG 15 “Life on Land”. The program works primarily across four themes: Sustainable Waste Management, Wildlife Protection, Renewable Energy, and Restoration and Conservation of Ecosystems.
Through the SBIF CONSERW: WASTE NO MORE initiative, SBI Foundation seeks to identify and fund capable partners with a strong record of implementing waste management solutions at scale. The budget range for proposals is between Rs. 2 crore and Rs. 4 crore, supporting projects over a two-to-three-year period. Only one submission per organisation is allowed, and multiple entries will result in disqualification.
Eligible NGOs must have a proven performance track record with at least three years of experience implementing CSR projects in the thematic area of waste management. Applicants must demonstrate experience in establishing and operating at least one functional Material Recovery Facility (MRF) or Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) and must have managed a minimum of 1,000 tons of waste to date. A dedicated waste management team, existing offtake and recycling or composting partners, and operational presence in the proposed state are also mandatory.
The RFP strictly prohibits any form of sub-letting, sub-contracting, or outsourcing of project activities. Applicants must submit documentary evidence of previous project completions, work experience, and a self-declaration stating that the organization does not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other legally prohibited basis. Additionally, agencies must confirm that they have not been blacklisted or declared ineligible by any government or public sector entity.
Supporting documents required with the proposal include a signed copy of the RFP with an official seal on every page, audited financial statements for the last three years, tax-exemption certificates under Sections 12A and 80(G), registration details, PAN card, income tax returns, annual reports, and founding documents such as the Memorandum of Association or Trust Deed.
SBI Foundation’s SBIF CONSERW program continues to strengthen India’s environmental stewardship by combining conservation with sustainable action, enabling organizations to contribute meaningfully toward cleaner ecosystems and a greener future.
