SDG Business Pioneers Award in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The application call for the SDG Business Pioneers Award is open and all private companies registered in BiH, regardless of business sector and company size, can apply for the Award.

This year, for the fifth time, the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH and UNDP in BiH will recognize and award business leaders of sustainable development in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the ceremony.
The prize is awarded as part of the Programme “Translating the SDG Framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina into sustainable and inclusive growth” funded by Sweden and implemented by UNDP in partnership with UNICEF and UN Women under the overall United Nations’s support to to the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to implement the SDG Framework in BiH. The Award’s partner is the Chamber of Foreign Trade/Foreign Trade of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The names of the winners of the Award for Business Leaders of Sustainable Development in BiH 2023 will be announced on  June 14, 2023 .

Goal

The main goal of the SDG Business Pioneers Award in BiH is to promote the best practices and ventures of private companies working to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in BiH. The award also aims to motivate companies to create new and high-quality jobs and improve their business models, while reducing their environmental footprint.

Theme

The themes for the Award for Business Leaders of Sustainable Development in BiH 2023 are “People” and “Resources and the Environment.

  • People
    • Award for business leaders of sustainable development for 2023. in this category, it is awarded to companies that are an inspiration to others in creating new, quality jobs because of the way they contribute to the development of value chains based on cooperation with stakeholders (SDG 12 and SDG 8).
  • Resources and the Environment
    • Award for business leaders of sustainable development in BiH for 2023. in this category, it is awarded to companies that prove that they are reducing their environmental footprint through decarbonization processes and production process innovations, as well as those that have a clear vision and that continuously improve their value chains (SDG 12 and SDG 9).
Aims

The award for business leaders of sustainable development in Bosnia and Herzegovina aims to:

  • Recognize and highlight the initiatives of private companies in the realization of the goals of sustainable development in BiH.
  • Motivate other actors in the private sector to include sustainable development goals in their own Business models.
Candidate Categories
  • The award for business leaders of sustainable development in BiH is awarded to micro, small, medium and large companies that apply for the award and fill out relevant questionnaires.
  • The categorization of companies is carried out according to the valid legal regulations that apply in the territory where the company is registered.
