The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) is currently inviting participants and their organizations for the International Training Programme promotion and protection of the institutional frameworks governing the self-regulation of media sector.
This may include:
- Participants and their managers understand the benefits of self-regulation
- The participants use the knowledge acquired in their respective transformation projects.
- Participants and their organizations are included in platforms for dialogue on matters related to the regulation of the media in a framework democratic.
Benefits
At the end of the training program, the people and Participating organizations must have obtained:
- Greater knowledge about the means and freedom of expression in relation to media policy, journalism and the self-regulation of the media sector.
- An extensive national and international professional network.
- Greater awareness of human rights, equality of gender and security for journalists and other actors of the media.
- Greater knowledge and ability to start a job of long-term structured transformation inside and outside of the respective organizations.
Programme Structure
This program is implemented over a period of 16 months and consists of five phases related to the development of Transformation projects of the participants.
- Phase 1: Start, January – April, 2019
- Phase 2: Course in Sweden, May 6-24, 2019
- Phase 3: Project development, June 2019 – September, 2019
- Phase 4: Regional phase, 2 weeks in one of the participating countries pantes, October 2019
- Phase 5: Implementation, November 2019 – April 2020
Eligibility Criteria
- The program is aimed at people who in different ways can promote standards and self-regulation of the sector media in the respective countries. The admi- The program management will identify its strategic participants important, related to the media sector of communication, such as media advice cation, judicial institutions, independent organizations of freedom of expression, political institutions, ministries relevant, parliamentary committees and media independent.
- Despite the focus on people, the program is directed mainly to organizations and efforts will be made to establish long-term relationships with organizations key involved.
- These organizations should be willing to share promise to participate for several years and be ready to cooperate with other organizations in the program, although they may have different opinions about the frames regulatory Capacity and interest to promote processes for achieving long-term objectives is a prerequisite in order to Become a collaborative organization.
- Applicants to the program must:
- Occupy a key position in your organization, with influence at a strategic level.
- Have the commitment and power to initiate and promote the transformation processes.
- Have a high command of Spanish.
- Have a relevant academic degree.
- Be available and motivated for active participation through the entire training program.
