Deadline: 30-Jun-2026
The Women’s Career Grant provides support to women in Queensland who are ready to re-enter the workforce after a break.
The Women’s Career Grant provides up to $4,999 to women to help meet the costs associated with the transition back into the workforce. $5 million in funding is available from 3 November 2025 to 30 June 2026, unless funds are awarded earlier. A further $5 million will be available between 1 July 2026 and 30 June 2027.
Applications for the Women’s Career Grant opened on Monday 3 November 2025, providing women in Queensland with a valuable opportunity to receive financial support to help them re-enter employment. The grant aims to remove barriers that women face when returning to work, particularly after periods of unemployment.
Eligible expenses under the Women’s Career Grant are divided into specific categories. Under workwear, applicants may claim costs for office attire, uniforms, steel cap boots, or other personal protective equipment and work-related gear. Technology support includes computers or laptops, software, and assistive technology to help women prepare for and perform their job roles effectively.
Childcare expenses can also be covered, including registered childcare, family day care, and before or after school care fees. For those seeking professional advancement, the grant supports recertification and training costs such as accredited courses, professional development, licenses like white or blue cards, and textbooks.
To be eligible for this funding, applicants must be women aged 18 years or older, residents of Queensland, and either Australian citizens, permanent residents, New Zealand citizens, or temporary residents with the necessary visa and work permits. Applicants must have been unemployed for six months or more and ready to re-enter the workforce. Additionally, they must provide all required evidence and have not previously received funding from this program.
Job readiness assistance is another key focus, funding services such as CV writing, interview preparation, personal grooming, and job searching, including transport. Additionally, relocation within Queensland can be supported through expenses like removalist services and bond cleaning.
Applicants will be required to complete an ID verification form, which must be signed and witnessed by a Justice of the Peace or Commissioner for Declarations. Proof of identity can include a current driver’s licence, passport, certificate of citizenship, or proof of age card. Proof of Queensland residency must also be provided, such as a utility bill, bank statement, council rates notice, or lease agreement.
The deadline for applications is 30 June 2026.
