Deadline: 30-Jul-2025
The UN Women office in South Africa is implementing the EntreprenHER Programme to provide catalytic financial support to women entrepreneurs based in Blouberg and Musina Local Municipalities in Limpopo Province. The programme is designed to strengthen business operations, enhance market access, promote job creation, and advance financial inclusion for women-led enterprises.
The selected Implementing Partner must manage the complete grant disbursement process. This includes transparent allocation of funds, financial oversight, tracking of beneficiaries, and strict adherence to reporting and accountability standards. The total budget range allocated for this proposal is between $30,000 and $50,000.
The Implementing Partner is expected to deliver a variety of services. This includes submitting a detailed workplan and inception report with clear methodologies, timelines, risk strategies, and monitoring mechanisms. They must also conduct orientation sessions for eligible beneficiaries, explaining the grant purpose, eligibility, application process, and accountability measures.
They will oversee the grant application process by collecting and reviewing business plans, financial projections, and compliance documentation. A due diligence review must be conducted to assess the applicants’ eligibility and business viability. Additionally, the partner will help facilitate pitch sessions for shortlisted applicants in collaboration with UN Women.
Grants will be disbursed in two tranches—70% initially and 30% after utilization verification. The partner must also coach beneficiaries on financial management to ensure responsible use of funds. Monitoring of grant use will be done via site visits, regular check-ins, and structured reporting. Progress reports must be submitted periodically, highlighting achievements, challenges, and insights.
After disbursement, beneficiaries will receive continued mentorship and business development support to ensure long-term success. A one-year impact assessment will be conducted to evaluate the programme’s effectiveness in collaboration with UN Women.
Eligible organizations must have experience in programme implementation, especially in economic empowerment and small business development. Strong budgeting and financial management skills, along with results-based monitoring and evaluation capabilities, are essential. Familiarity with UN systems is an advantage.
Applicants must have at least 3–5 years of experience in coordinating and monitoring development programmes, and at least 5 years in managing grants. Experience working with micro and small enterprises—particularly women-led businesses—is necessary, especially in rural or peri-urban settings. Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of a local Limpopo language such as Sepedi, Tshivenda, or Xitsonga is highly desirable.
