The United Nations Development Programme has launched its new Country Programme Document for Supporting Victims of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and Advancing Women’s Inheritance Rights through Legal Aid Services, Representation and Mediation in Sierra Leone.
Aims
- This CFP aims to:
- Principally provide support (including transport fare, medication services, temporary shelter, among others, for 200 victims/survivor’s to facilitate their participation and commitment to prosecution of offenders.
- Deliver psychosocial and referral support to survivors of SGBV.
- Provide legal aid to 20 women facing inheritance-related discrimination or dispossession.
- Conduct effective prevention of SGBV through awareness raising targeting 1,000 on the relevant laws and women’s rights, prosecution of SGBV offenders and enforcement of women’s rights to inherit property.
Eligible Activities
- Applicants are invited to propose initiatives that may include (but are not limited to):
- Legal aid services for SGBV survivors and representation and/or mediation women denied inheritance.
- Psychosocial support and referral services for SGBV survivors, including access to safe spaces or shelters.
- Public education, community dialogues, and media campaigns on inheritance rights and SGBV laws.
- Community-based mediation to resolve family and property disputes.
