Nominations for the 2023 Fairfield City Women’s Day Award are now open.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said the award provides a platform for local female entrepreneurs, leaders and innovators to receive the recognition and honour they deserve.
The award is an opportunity to recognise those women who make a difference in our community, particularly those who influence and inspire others, Mayor Carbone said.
Recognising local women in leadership encourages ambition, empowers confidence and inspires new leaders now and in the future.
Criteria

Nomination criteria includes:
- Women who lead by example and inspire others to pursue their personal careers
- Women who excel in business, in the private or public sector
- Women who have demonstrated excellence in their career and elsewhere
- Nominees must be female, residents of Fairfield Local Government Area and at least 18 years of age on 7 March 2023
- Self-nomination will not be accepted
- Sitting local, state and federal politicians and current vice-regal officers (including members of parliament, members of the Legislative Council, mayors, councillors) are not eligible for nomination
- Nominees who meet the above criteria will be eligible pending completion of a referee check
- Council employees are not eligible for nomination.
Conditions of Entry
- Nominees must live in the Fairfield City Local Government Area.
- Nominations should include the name and contact details of the nominator and three referees.
- Nominations must be completed using the 2023 Fairfield City Women's Day Award nomination form.
- The nomination form must be completed in full, otherwise the nomination will be ineligible.
- The nomination should directly relate to the criteria listed above.
- An individual need only be nominated once to be considered. The number of nominations received per nominee bears no weight in their selection.
- Winners should be available to attend the Council Meeting in March 2023 (inability to attend does not disqualify entry). Winners may be asked to make themselves available without cost to attend engagements throughout 2023 (subject to their availability).
- Winners may be asked to make themselves available without cost for publicity purposes as required before, during and after the awards presentation. This may include engagements throughout 2023.
- Nomination information may be used for publicity purposes.
- The decision of the Fairfield City Women's Day Award committee is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
