Deadline: 01-Dec-2025
The UN Women is inviting civil society organisations to submit proposals under a regional programme in the Europe and Central Asia region, focusing on women’s economic empowerment and ending violence against women and girls (VAWG) in the Western Balkans.
This call aims to strengthen collaboration between women’s entrepreneurship ecosystems, technology companies and service providers responding to gender-based violence, including technology-facilitated abuse. The goal is to promote safer, more equitable and more inclusive environments where women can fully participate in society and the economy.
The initiative prioritizes partnerships that can build the capacities of women’s organisations, expand women’s access to economic and technological resources, and enhance the availability and quality of services for survivors of violence. Selected civil society organisations will work across multiple sectors to support innovation, advocacy and institutional engagement, while developing tools and interventions that improve economic resilience, leadership opportunities and protection for women and girls. The programme emphasizes the integration of digital solutions and cross-sector cooperation to ensure sustainable, systemic impact.
Applicants are expected to show proven experience in advancing gender equality, supporting women’s economic inclusion, and addressing violence against women at local, national or regional levels. Organisations should also demonstrate the ability to coordinate and partner with stakeholders including tech industry actors, women-led networks, grassroots groups and service providers. The focus is on scaling promising models that can influence policy environments and strengthen survivor-centered support systems.
The budget range for this proposal should be between USD 205,000 and USD 215,000, allowing organisations to design and implement comprehensive programmes with lasting impact. This call presents a timely opportunity for civil society actors in the Western Balkans to collaborate on transformative approaches that empower women, foster inclusive growth and contribute to the prevention and response to all forms of violence against women and girls.
