Nominations are now open for Women in Business Awards, in association with Virgin Media O2 Business are back to celebrate the dedication and achievements of the most successful entrepreneurial and inspiring business women throughout Northern Ireland.
Award Categories
- Best in Professional Services: A businesswomen who consistently exceeds the requirements of internal and external customers. Consistently meeting or exceeding challenging objectives, to deliver the highest levels of service responsiveness and innovation within a professional practice. There will be 2 winners – one winner as a corporate employee and one from a small business.
- Best Customer Service: Recognising a businesswoman that can demonstrate she truly has the customer at the heart of their business. The winner will demonstrate ongoing improved performance standards and customer impact in the delivery of products and services. There will be 2 winners – one winner as a corporate employee and one from a small business.
- Outstanding Innovation: An outstanding individual who can best demonstrate a flair for innovation in business. Whether it’s a new idea, product, method, technology, process, or application this award will go to the individual who has transformed their business. There will be 2 winners – one winner as a corporate employee and one from a small business.
- Outstanding Mentor: A person who has given generously of their time to support, guide, challenge and encourage female mentees to success. This is a gender-neutral category.
- Outstanding Management & Leadership: Recognising a manager/leader who has demonstrated exceptional vision and leadership in business.
- Advancing Diversity in the Workplace: A business and/or an individual who has championed diversity within the workplace and can demonstrate the benefits of this. There will be two winners in this category. An individual winner who has advocated for diversity in their workplace and a company winner that has clearly demonstrated their diversity in their workforce.
- Young Businesswoman of the Year: They will recognise the outstanding work of young businesswoman in any aspect of business activity; from business start- up, business owner, professional and/or manager. Nominees must be 30 years or under on 23rd January 2023.
- Excellence in IT: A business and/or individual who can demonstrate the most successful and innovative use of IT within their business, this could be via software technologies, online businesses or best use of social media and digital technologies.
- Best New Start Up: Recognising a woman behind an outstanding new start up demonstrating high levels of innovation service and profit. The business must be less than 1 years old i.e. began trading after 31st January 2022.
- Best Small Business: An outstanding female led small business which demonstrates a high level of service, is profitable and is innovative in its thinking. This business may be a sole trader, a partnership, a social enterprise, or a small private sector company with a maximum of 25 employees.
- Best Green Business: An individual who has worked to ensure that sustainability is at the very core of their business. There will be 2 winners in this category – one winner as a corporate employee and one from a small business.
- Best Marketing Campaign: A businesswoman who can demonstrate how they implemented a successful marketing campaign within the last year which has had positive results and outcomes for their business. There will be 2 winners – one winner as a corporate employee and one from a small business.
Eligibility Criteria
- Entrants must be based and have head office located in Northern Ireland.
- Please ensure nominees are available on Thursday 2nd March 2023 for the Awards Gala.
- An application form will need to be completed for each entrant. The information provided will be disclosed only to the judges. Do not send any other documents / supporting materials as these will not be accepted.
- There will be one winner per category (unless otherwise stated).
- The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into before or after the judging. All decisions regarding the judging process are made by their judging panel.
- Details provided in the application form will potentially be used, with approval, for press releases and web content if the nominee is placed as a finalist or winner, so please ensure it is factually correct – they will not be liable for inaccuracies published based on nomination content and changes may not be possible after publication.
- Applications that do not meet the entry criteria will not be accepted.
- Entrants can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else.
- Entrants can apply for more than one category but must submit a full application each time i.e. one category per application.
