Are you a woman entrepreneur or aspiring entrepreneur ready to thrive in the digital economy? The Women in Digital Business (WIDB) Training Program is here to equip you with essential skills, tools, and strategies to digitally transform your business for success.
The program aims to help participants build a strong online presence, learn how to sell and manage business processes digitally, access tailored training, receive formalization support, and join a network of empowered women entrepreneurs across Africa.
This fully-funded program, a collaboration between AM-Steve House, the International Labour Organization (ITC/ILO), and Microsoft philanthropies, is currently recruiting for its fourth pilot. The program is open to women aged 18–60 who are African residents of one of the continent’s 55 countries. Applicants must have a valid email and WhatsApp account, and access to a connected computer or smartphone. They must be an entrepreneur or aspiring entrepreneur with either an existing business or a business idea they intend to implement within the next six months. Preference will be given to non-tech micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and applicants must be fluent in the English language.
The training curriculum includes the “Women in Digital Business” course, which covers building an online presence, selling online, and adapting other business processes. Participants can also take ILO’s Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) courses, such as “Generate Your Business Idea,” “Start Your Business,” and “Improve Your Business.” The program also offers formalization support, including guidance on branding and regulatory compliance, with basic formalization costs covered for qualifying businesses. The training is delivered in a flipped classroom model with self-paced online content and facilitated sessions.
The program has two tracks: A Pilot Track, which starts in late Q3, 2025 (September 2025), and a Regular Track, which will start at a later date with a refined curriculum. Participants in the Pilot Track will receive exclusive perks, including investment readiness training and funding support. The deadline for the 4th Pilot Track applications is Friday, September 19, 2025.
