Zimba Women has launched a call for applications for the Zimba Women Business Development Training Masterclass 2020.
Research shows that Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are the engine of economic growth in Uganda and across Africa. However, the SME sector continues to grapple with a wide range of challenges including limited access to affordable finance and limited technical and business skills which has impeded their growth.
It is against this backdrop that Zimba Women has developed a value proposition for Uganda’s SME sector and is thus collaborating with the Innovation Village to execute the Next Wave Project which is focusing on finding solutions to the youth employment challenge and reducing poverty in Africa through offering business development services to a wide range of women within various communities.
The Need
- Access to larger markets is a huge motivating factor for self-employment and entrepreneurship for women in Africa. Zimba Women will coordinate with the Innovation Village to increase the number of employment opportunities by identifying and supporting budding entrepreneurs especially women.
- Zimba women will provide business development training for women ranging from digital literacy, financial and technical skills which shall enable better production efficiency within female-owned businesses and stronger business leadership and team development.
Time Commitment
- The duration of the project is 1-4 months.

Eligibility Criteria
- All applicants must be able to speak, read, and write clearly & effectively in English.
- All applicants must be women.
- All applicants must be aged between 18-35 years.
- All applicants should be available for at least twice a week per month.
