Deadline: 01-Sep-2025
The Africa-Europe Foundation (AEF) is launching a special Youth Awards Scheme and invites youth-led organizations from Africa and Europe to showcase and amplify the contributions of young people in shaping the Africa-Europe partnership ahead of the 7th AU-EU Summit in Angola in November 2025. This call is part of the AEF #RoadtoLuanda25 campaign, a cross-continental initiative bringing bold ideas, fresh perspectives, and diverse voices to the heart of Africa-Europe cooperation.
The program offers micro-grants to support youth-led and youth-focused projects that give visibility to impactful actions, campaigns, and voices strengthening the connection between the two continents. Initiatives may include local dialogues, creative digital campaigns, storytelling, or other formats that highlight youth leadership in shaping a meaningful partnership.
Funding includes a standard grant of €5,000 for projects promoting awareness and engagement on the Africa-Europe Partnership at local, national, or regional levels. Two exceptional grants of up to €10,000 will be awarded to organizations with strong digital mobilization and media reach, proven by their ability to engage at least 10,000 young people across Africa and Europe. Eligible activities include social media campaigns, multimedia storytelling, video production, influencer-driven initiatives, and innovative digital formats.
Applicants must be youth-led organizations registered in an AU or EU Member State (including EEA/EFTA), entirely governed and managed by individuals under 36. Eligible entities include grassroots and international youth organizations, networks, associations, civil society platforms, NGOs, youth-run local authorities, and community associations.
Applications must be submitted online in English and include the organization’s profile, a 500-word concept note, a 200-word impact plan, a budget summary, proof of legal and fiscal registration, and a bank ownership certificate. Only one application per organization is allowed, and no additional documents should be sent unless requested for clarification. Late submissions will not be considered.
