The Youth Initiative for Human Rights – Kosovo (YIHR KS) invities all young people from Serbian and Albanian community in Kosovo aged 16-30 to become part of the Youth Exchange Program within the project “Kosovo Youth Dialogue Activity” which is supported by USAID Kosovo.
YIHR KS will organize the first one-week exchange with young people from the Albanian and Serbian community in order for young people to have the opportunity to exchange experiences, ideas and opinions, as well as to learn about transitional justice, dealing with the past, intercultural dialogue and other communication skills. In total, 30 people will take part in the first exchange.
The work process:
During the exchange, young people will learn the basics of video production, photography, storytelling and theater. Each group will have a professional mentor to guide and assist students in their projects. Their task will be to use these art forms as a medium for dialogue and cooperation with each other, as well as a way to jointly oppose the nationalist narratives that exist in the societies by jointly promoting reconciliation. After the exchange, the participants will have the opportunity to present their work in public.
All participants will be certified.
Also, participants will have the opportunity to participate in other activities of YIHR KS that will be organized throughout the year.
Date and place:
The exchange will be organized online through the Zoom platform from 6 to 10 July 2020, will be held in English and it is for free.
Kosovo Youth Dialogue Activity is a thirty (30) month project with the main goal of empowering young people to participate in dealing with the past and the reconciliation process in Kosovo by encouraging interethnic communication, interaction and cooperation, addressing common interests, building trust and promoting mutual understanding and positive attitudes.
