The Young and Talented Creative Writing Awards supports aspiring young writers in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly by offering mentorship and funding to help them develop their skills and build careers in the literary field.
Through mentorship from professional writers, the program fosters talent and provides young authors, poets, journalists, and screenwriters with valuable guidance and opportunities to grow. The goal is to help them pursue their ambitions and succeed in the challenging world of writing.
Grants of up to £1,000 are available to cover various costs such as workshop fees, travel, accommodation, IT equipment, training, and any other expenses related to developing the young person’s writing talent.
The program does not support individuals outside the age range, those living outside Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, organizations, or costs already incurred.
Eligible applicants must be between 16 and 23 years old, show writing talent, and reside in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly. Priority is given to those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
