IREX’s Center for Applied Learning and Impact, KaziRemote, and the Kenya Ministry of Information, Communications, and Technology are recruiting a group of youth (ages 18 to 29) who reside in Mombasa County, Kenya, to participate in a virtual training.
- Youth with experience: Have had some experience doing virtual gigs while living in Mombasa County within the past 12 months (e.g., work performed remotely on a computer or mobile device such as transcription, data entry, graphic design).
- Youth with interest: Have an interest in obtaining virtual gigs (doing online work), but have no previous experience.
- Group 1: Youth with online work experience
- Between ages 18 and 29
- Have had one or more online work experiences within the past 12 months (e.g., work performed remotely on a computer or mobile device such as transcription, data entry, graphic design)
- Be based in one of the six subcounties in Mombasa
- Demonstrated interest in and motivation for working online
- Demonstrated ability for taking initiative on a task or project, engaging in active listening, working independently, and committing to a project from start to finish
- Group 2: Youth with interest in working online
- Between ages 18 and 29
- Have an interest in getting online work (no previous experience required)
- Be based in one of the six subcounties in Mombasa
- Demonstrated interest in and motivation for working online
- Demonstrated ability for taking initiative on a task or project, engaging in active listening, working independently, and committing to a project from start to finish
