The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), through the Office of Family Violence Prevention and Services (OFVPS), is offering a cooperative agreement to operate the National Domestic Violence Hotline (NDVH). This initiative is part of the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) grant programs and aims to assist adult and youth victims of family, domestic, or dating violence, including their dependents.
The hotline is mandated by statute to provide 24-hour, confidential, toll-free assistance and information. Applicants must submit a comprehensive plan detailing how they will operate the hotline, including training programs for personnel, hiring and supervision criteria, and workforce capacity planning to ensure the hotline is staffed and prepared for current and future demands.
The proposal must also include strategies for gathering and analyzing feedback from survivors, updating and maintaining a resource database, publicizing the hotline’s availability, and offering services for non-English speaking callers, either through multilingual staff or other means.
The total funding available for this program is $16,989,375. Awards will range between $15,000,000 and $16,989,375. The project period is 60 months, divided into five 12-month budget periods.
To be eligible, applicants must be nonprofit private organizations with recognized expertise in family, domestic, or dating violence. They must show a track record of high-quality service, capacity to manage a national hotline, ability to provide referrals and crisis intervention, commitment to accessibility for underserved populations, and compliance with FVPSA confidentiality rules.
