Deadline: 27-Aug-2025
The Consortium, supported by The Henry Smith Foundation, has launched the LGBT+ Fund: Youth Advocacy Fund to strengthen organisations supporting LGBT+ young people aged 14–25 across the UK. The fund aims to ensure these organisations are well resourced, sustainable, and resilient, helping build confidence and independence in LGBT+ youth as they grow into adulthood.
The funding addresses the urgent need for safe, inclusive spaces where LGBT+ young people can connect, develop, and thrive, especially in areas with historically low investment in LGBT+ services. Eligible applicants are UK-based non-profits that have delivered youth work for at least two years and are led by and for the LGBT+ community. The programme encourages applications from groups in underfunded regions such as the North-East, East, Southwest of England, and the Devolved Nations, as well as those serving intersectional needs.
Grants range from £10,000 to £50,000, with up to £15,000 available for creating new LGBT+ youth groups or projects. Funding can cover core costs like staff salaries, rent, and utilities, as well as project costs including venue hire, activities, and transport. Activities may be in-person or online and can also take place in educational settings. All grants must be fully spent within 18 months.
Applications close at midday on 27 August 2025, with decisions announced by the end of November 2025. Successful applicants will be expected to report on fund usage and outcomes, with flexible reporting options such as written, video, or conversational updates.
