Deadline: 23-Jul-2025
The Administration for Children & Families is now accepting applications for the Basic Center Program. This initiative provides temporary emergency shelter, counseling, and comprehensive supportive services for youth under the age of 18.
Funding is available for community-based organizations that serve youth who have run away or are experiencing homelessness. Services may include operating short-term shelters such as group homes or host family placements and offering counseling to youth in crisis. These youth are typically not involved in the child welfare or juvenile justice systems.
The primary goal of the program is to create and strengthen local projects that address the immediate needs of young people who have left home due to family conflict, crisis, or who are at risk of homelessness.
A total of $23,364,000 in funding is available. Grants will range from $199,999 to a maximum of $350,000.
Eligible applicants include public and private nonprofit entities, including local governments, school districts, housing authorities, higher education institutions, and Native American tribal organizations. Individuals and foreign entities are not eligible to apply.
