Deadline: 01-Nov-2025
The second wave of subgrants for youth organizations in Poltava has been launched to support short-term initiatives aimed at enhancing youth participation and development.
This competition is designed for youth organizations in Poltava and is part of the National Program “Youth Capital of Europe 2025.” The program is implemented within the framework of the “Lviv – Youth Capital of Europe” title sharing, supported by the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund and financially backed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) through the KfW Development Bank.
The priority areas of the competition include increasing youth participation in decision-making processes, developing youth work infrastructure in the city, forming youth strategies, promoting principles of participation, inclusion, and sustainable development at the local level, developing cultural environments and youth arts, supporting street cultures and local initiatives, popularizing healthy lifestyles, developing sports and active youth leisure, and supporting youth entrepreneurship and professional development.
The funding is divided into two lots. Lot 1 – Small Projects has a maximum grant amount of up to 50,000 UAH and supports short-term local initiatives up to 3 months, including reporting. Organizations previously declined in the first wave can reapply with a new idea. Lot 2 – Institutional or Complex Initiatives provides up to 130,000 UAH for broader programs encompassing multiple components such as research, advocacy, and events. Organizations previously declined in the first wave may also reapply with a new idea. Co-financing or own contribution will be an advantage.
Grant recipients must adhere to expenditure limits when forming project budgets. Honoraria for project team members may not exceed 10% of the total grant, administrative expenses no more than 10%, and purchase of fixed assets up to 15%. Other budget items can be used according to the project’s objectives, provided these limits are respected. Ineligible expenses include fixed assets exceeding 15% of the grant unless directly justified, political or religious activities, personal expenses, and expenses unrelated to the project’s territorial scope.
Projects must be implemented exclusively within the city of Poltava and aim to support and promote the development of a youth strategy at the city level. The projects should contribute to the goals of “Lviv – Youth Capital of Europe 2025,” such as developing resilience among youth, enhancing cultural competencies through cultural events, workshops, and memory spaces, supporting STEM education, conducting training on inclusivity, European integration, and volunteerism.
