The UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) is currently accepting proposals from legally registered national non-governmental organizations (NGOs) for its program entitled “Enhancing women’s meaningful leadership and participation in state building and development in Timor-Leste” with an aim to support gender advocates to influence integration of gender equality principles into conflict prevention and peacebuilding practices at the village, municipal in support of implementation at the national level.
Components & Funding Information
- National gender advocates and community based women-led groups in Baucau, Covalima and Oecusse have capacity to promote evidence-based advocacy for NAP WPS implementation.
- Total available funds: USD 150,000
- Women leaders and networks at the municipal and local level in Baucau, Covalima and Oecusse have strengthened capacity to participate and influence national and local decision-making processes.
- Total available funds: USD 175,000
- Women’s groups and community-based organizations in Baucau, Covalima and Oecusse have capacity to inform conflict prevention and peacebuilding processes.
- Total available funds: USD 210,000
Eligibility Criteria
Proposals will be further shortlisted based on the following criteria:
- National Non-Governmental organizations
- Organizations must be legally registered in Timor-Leste.
- Submission of all requested documents and annexes as required by the deadline
- Organizations must have the technical expertise in the proposed area and sound financial management system with annual audits (organizations will be evaluated based on UN

- Programme Design and effectiveness and feasibility of the Programme
- Sustainability of the Programme
- Operational and financial capacity
