Deadline: 9-Dec-22
The Gateshead Council is offering a second round of small grants funded by the DWP Household Support Fund to support the Gateshead Food Network to provide food to residents who may be at risk of going cold or hungry, recognising that demand for help is increasing and donations of food are decreasing.
They want to do more to help the residents, delivering upon the Thrive ambitions to ensure:
- They put people and families at the heart of everything they do
- Tackle inequality so people have a fair chance
- Support the communities to support themselves and each other
- Work together and fight for a better future for Gateshead
- Invest in the economy to provide opportunities for employment, innovation and growth
Funding Information
- The total grant pot is £50,000, so whilst they are not capping the grant awards, they would expect the average award to be around £2,500.
Eligibility Criteria
- The cost-of-living crisis in the UK is resulting in unprecedented pressures on people already in poverty.
- They recognise the residents will be turning to the Food Network in increasing numbers, at a time when donations appear to be on the decline. Because of this, an opportunity for grant funding has been announced for the Food Network.
