The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad (PAS Hyderabad) is seeking proposals for a project entitled “Promoting Social Entrepreneurship for Women College Students” to develop a curriculum on social entrepreneurship and then implement a series of workshops for 600 women college students to introduce them to social entrepreneurship and provide them with the tools and skills to initiate their own social entrepreneurial endeavors.
Under this project, a grantee will develop a curriculum focused on promoting and encouraging social entrepreneurship opportunities for women college students. Once designed, the grantee will implement the curriculum in a series of two-day training workshops for women college students to explain and demonstrate the steps to successfully launch a social entrepreneurial endeavor.
Program Goals
The goals of this funding opportunity are to:
- Support the empowerment of women by providing social entrepreneurial skills and mentoring opportunities to encourage women pursue further education and career paths in social entrepreneurship.
- Promote the understanding of social entrepreneurship among women college students and aspiring young women entrepreneurs.
- Strengthen people-to-people ties between the United States and India by facilitating the exchange of ideas, experiences, knowledge and methods of teaching social entrepreneurship to women college students between the two countries.
Funding Information
- Minimum (“Floor”) Award Amount: $30,000
- Maximum (“Ceiling”) Award Amount: $32,000
- Grant projects generally should be completed in one year or less.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility is open to all non-profit, non-governmental organizations.
- Individuals are not eligible for an award under this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).
- Organizations may sub-contract with other entities, but only one, non-profit, non-governmental entity can be the prime recipient of the award.
- When sub-contracting with other entities, the responsibilities of each entity must be clearly defined in the proposal.
- Private institutions of higher education
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
