The Community Foundation for Staffordshire is pleased to launch the Community Mental Health Fund to support adults in Staffordshire suffering from mental health related issues.
The Community Foundation for Staffordshire is an independent charity dedicated to strengthening local communities across Staffordshire and Shropshire.
Funding Information
You may apply for a grant between £1,000 and £20,000
Geographical Focus
They will support organizations based in, or working for the benefit of people in the following local authority areas;
- North Staffordshire – Including Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough and Staffordshire Moorlands District and Stoke-on-Trent
- Southern Staffordshire – Including Lichfield District, Tamworth Borough, East Staffordshire District, Stafford Borough, South Staffordshire District, Cannock Chase District
- You can be delivering or based in the areas. However, you must have a local connection to the area in which the proposal will be delivered and clearly demonstrate this connection. Applications without clear demonstration of local connection will not be considered.

Beneficiaries they Can Support
In this first round of grant funding there will be system-wide focus on under-represented groups that were the result of a detailed local data analysis. These include:
- Men over 40 years
- Muslim and Eastern European communities, inclusive of individuals/families seeking asylum.
- Older Adults (65year+)
- Young Adults (18-25 years)
- LGBTQ+
- People with co-occurring needs and substance use
- People with disabilities
- Traveling Communities
- Rans jacket
- Any grant applications will seek to support people Severe Mental illness (SMI)* from one or more under-represented groups and will support them to access to services, support them to them to express how services could be shaped to improve experiences and goals for people from that under-represented group.
- Definition of SMI: The phrase severe mental illness (SMI) is defined as someone over the age of 18 who has a mental, behavioral, or emotional disorder that causes serious functional impairment that substantially interferes with or limits one or more major life activities
- Any organisation/s awarded grant funding will be required to register their organization and services on Staffordshire Connects (where a service is delivered in any of the eight Staffordshire Districts) and/or the Stoke-on-Trent Community Directory (where a service is delivered in Stoke-on-Trent).

- Registered Charities
- Social Enterprises
- Limited companies are not eligible to apply to this program.
- Organizations who are limited by guarantee and also a registered charity can be considered.
