The Horowhenua District Council has launched the applications for Horowhenua Vibrant Communities Fund.
The Horowhenua Vibrant Communities Fund aims to support one-off celebratory, educational, competitive, commemorative or exhibitive projects and events that help specific community groups to celebrate their identity and share them with the wider community.
What costs can I get funding for?
- Materials or supplies needed to run your event,
- Venue or equipment hire,
- Personnel and administrative costs for short-term projects,
- Promotion and publicity of your event.
Can I get funding for my project?
- Applications must meet all of the following criteria to be considered eligible for consideration in having their projects funded:
- The project or event aims to support one-off celebratory, educational, competitive, commemorative or exhibitive projects and events that help specific community groups to celebrate their identity and share them with the wider community.
- Projects or events must be clearly defined with a beginning and end, occur for a limited time but are not regularly scheduled, i.e. weekly cultural activity classes.
- Projects and events should be locally significant, of special interest to the people of Horowhenua and enhance community wellbeing.
- The programme must demonstrate collaboration across community organisations
- The programme or project must be completed within the nine month period of funds allocated.
Eligibility Criteria
- Community organisations who either reside or service the Horowhenua district.
What does the fund does not support?
- Central Government and other organisations that have significant means of regular income,
- Organisations needing considerable capital funding,
- Community and Social Development programmes,
- Organisational operating expenses.
