Counterpart International’s internet governance/internet freedom program has announced its first ever Request for Proposals (RFP) for small research grants in four targeted countries: Sri Lanka, Ukraine, Zimbabwe, and Venezuela.
It is intended to address gaps in evidenced based research concerning internet governance policies, freedom of expression online, access to information/censorship, privacy, threats/opportunities for at risk populations online, network disruptions, strengthening multistakeholder governance for a and other critical issues at the intersection of technology, human rights, and the internet.
Research should include recommendations for relevant stakeholders (e.g. government policy makers, civil society, private, or technical sectors) and creative ways to present and advocate for the findings. Research products should be used as a means to drive a national conversation among policy makers, the media, civil society actors, and others in advance of a rights based approach to internet governance.
Funding Information
- Pricing must be presented in US dollars and not exceed $5,000.
- The anticipated period of performance for this scope is approximately 9 months.
Eligibility Criteria
COUNTERPART seeks an individual, organization or firm to provide a research paper on policies governing the internet to inform and benefit internet freedom within four targeted countries (mentioned below).
