The Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) is currently inviting eligible entities to submit proposals requesting for funds under the Matching Grant Facility (MGF) program to improve enterprise capacity, enhance productivity and competitiveness of enterprises in Uganda.
The Government of Uganda received credit from the World Bank towards implementation of the Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Project (CEDP).
Grant Information
The eligible enterprises may access a cumulative grant amount not exceeding USD 100,000 (One hundred thousand dollars only) during the project lifetime and subject to availability of funds.
Eligibility Criteria
- The MGF is open to ONLY private enterprises and associations operating in the following sectors: Tourism, Agribusiness (only coffee, grains and pulses, horticulture, edible oils, fisheries) and Information Technology/Business Process Outsourcing.
- To obtain a grant under the MGF, the entity must fulfill the following conditions:
- Be duly registered as per the laws in Uganda.
- Shall have been operational for a minimum of two (2) years from the time of registration.
- Be privately owned and not partially or controlled by Government
- Shall be operating in any one of the above supported sectors.
Eligible Activities
- The MGF support may be applied for a range of Business Development Services (BDS) so long as they are geared towards strengthening and enhancing capacity of enterprises.
- These may include; but not limited to management training, acquisition of quality certification systems, marketing, record keeping, financial management and production techniques.
- All activities must result into verifiable, tangible and measurable outcomes that will contribute to the attainment of MGF and CEDP objectives.
